No, I am not talking about the Iowa victory over State, I’m talking about being ranked No. 1 in the nation for the best state to retire! This is a big story, though Iowa has frequently been ranked a top state for retirement based on affordability, overall well-being, the cost and quality of healthcare, weather and crime—we have never been No. 1! What else, we were also ranked No. 6 for the cheapest state to live in the U.S.
Iowa might not be the first state that comes to mind when you think about retirement, but with its low cost of living, as well as a combination of cities, small towns and peaceful countryside to choose from, Iowa is becoming more and more popular for retirees.
