Life has a way of taking unexpected turns, and sometimes, those turns lead you to exactly where you’re meant to be. That’s how I feel every day being married to my incredible wife, Dr. Adrianne Rahde Bischoff.
Adrianne is a neonatologist at the University of Iowa, specializing in Neonatal Hemodynamics—a field dedicated to helping premature babies with heart and circulatory challenges. Her work is nothing short of extraordinary, and her dedication to medicine, research, and patient care is inspiring. Originally from southern Brazil, she always knew she wanted to be a doctor like her grandfather. After earning her MD and completing her pediatric residency in Brazil, she moved to Toronto for a Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship, which eventually led her to Iowa City. The University of Iowa’s world-renowned neonatal program recruited her, and since then, she’s become an integral part of the medical community here.
We first met through a company my late wife, Amy, founded—an unexpected connection that changed everything. Our shared passion for hard work, adventure, and family quickly brought us together, and in January 2024, we tied the knot. Together, we balance busy careers with an unwavering commitment to our family, raising two amazing kids and traveling as much as possible. Adrianne has visited 45 countries (and counting!), and I’m working hard to catch up!
Beyond her work, she’s a true adventurer—whether it’s scuba diving in tropical waters or exploring new destinations. Her fearless spirit, intelligence, and heart make every day with her an adventure worth cherishing.
